B. Skincare Review

So today I'm going to talk about a brand that I don't typically use but have recently bought 2 of their products as they were on offer. I decided to choose the B. Clean Sparkling Water Cleanser because I've been eyeing it up for awhile as I was fascinated by the bubbly formula and it just sounded a bit different! The second product I picked up was one I hadn't really noticed before and is called the B. Refreshed Essence Lotion. I'd seen girls on YouTube using essence in really posh little glass bottles with droppers, however they were all out of my price range. Then I saw this product and thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. Below I will be giving my verdict on both products from the B. Skincare range...

B. Clean Sparkling Water Cleanser:

What it does: This cleanser can be used by itself or as a double cleanse after makeup removal. It simply adds an extra step to your routine in order to thoroughly cleanse the skin and make sure there's no makeup or dirt residue. It has both Allantoin and Aloe Vera extract to help soothe and soften the skin.

Verdict: I've never done a double cleanse before but have found that I really enjoy having an extra step after my Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash as it makes my skin feel very clean and hydrated. However, I only double cleanse at night as I have oily skin and wouldn't want to over-wash my face as this can lead to the skin producing more oil. But as an evening cleanser it's great! I love the gel formula and delicate floral scent. It really feels like I'm pampering my skin :)

Rating: 8/10

B. Refreshed Essence Lotion:

What it does: This product is formulated to soothe and replenish skin after cleansing. It has Allantoin and Algae Extract to sooth, smooth and soften, as well as Hyaluronic Acid for continuous moisturisation for up to 12 hours.

Verdict: I've found this lotion to be very soothing on my sensitive skin and I'll apply it after my toner. I really like the thin consistency and how light and cooling it is upon application. Although it's not targeted at oily, spot prone skin I like that it's designed for all skin types and having something that's a bit gentler. Overall this is a nice product to use to add a surge of hydration in the morning and to calm my skin at night. I also like that it comes in a generous-sized bottle as a little goes a long way, meaning that it'll last me ages.

Rating: 7/10

In conclusion, I am glad I could finally afford both products in this range, particularly the B. Clean Sparkling Water Cleanser as I'd been wanting to try it for ages. I also like that both products have shaken up my skincare routine by adding new elements such as double cleansing and an essence to soothe my skin. My skin still gets a bit irritated after cleansing but I think that's more to do with the harsh ingredients in my spot fighting products, such as Salicylic Acid. My toners also contain alcohol which I've heard can dry out the skin but luckily I haven't experienced that. What I do know is that my skin feels a lot cleaner and more refreshed after application and I'm hoping that over time my skin will thank me for it. However, I'm not sure if I can afford both products so I think I will just keep the cleanser for now. Although I've enjoyed using the essence lotion, I just don't think it makes much difference to my skin and is more of a luxury item rather than a necessity. I have other products with similar ingredients that do the same thing, so I think I will just stick with them.

I hope this post has encouraged you to try some of the products from the B. Skincare range or to buy similar ones. It's definitely worth trying out new products once in awhile, especially when they're on offer, as you feel like you're treating yourself :) I don't think I would've tried either of these products otherwise, so I'd encourage you to experiment as much as you can. However if you find a product that works well with your skin type and has noticeable results I would say to stick with it! It takes time and patience to find products that are a good match for your skin type and work for you, so when you find your "holy grail" product never let it go! Unless you feel like switching it up every once and awhile ;)
