Body Wash Bother!
Today's topic is... bodywash!
We all use body wash in the shower or bath, so it's important to get the right one. The best body washes moisturise, cleanse, revitalize and wake up our senses. So how do you know if you've found the right one?? Well I'm here to help you figure it out! Below are a selection of body washes that I've personally tried and tested, as well as my overall verdict on them.
So from least to most favourite here they are...
#4- Green Frog Botanic Botanical Bodywash (*£8.95)
What it does: This organic, cruelty free bodywash cleanses, smoothes and moisturises using a combination of essential oils.
Ingredients: Fresh geranium, peppermint and Himalayan soapberry.
Verdict: I loved the fresh scent as it awakened my senses and body. The down side was that you needed to use quite a lot of it as it didn't lather. There also wasn't a noticeable difference in my skin's softness.
#3- Dove Go Fresh Revive Body Wash (*£1.31)
What it does: Revives the skin for softer, smoother skin after just one shower.
Ingredients: Pomegranate and lemon verbena.
Verdict: This cream based formula felt very luxurious on applying, however it didn't lather which disappointed me. However, it left my skin feeling very soft and smooth afterwards.
#2- Rituals The Ritual of Happy Buddha (*£8.50)
What it does: Turns into a luxurious foam when it comes into contact with water.
Ingredients: Sweet orange and cedar wood.
Verdict: This product has such a lovely fragrant smell as well as a wonderful foaming action which leaves you feeling thoroughly cleansed and pampered. Perfect for shaving, you only need a small amount, however the formula does come out of the nozzle quite fast. Left my skin feeling soft and supple afterwards.
#1- Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Bodywash (*£6.50)
What it does: This energy-boosting and citrus conditioning bodywash also doubles as a bubble bath, whilst also boosting moisture levels.
Ingredients: Kaffir limes, lemons, vanilla musk, vegetable oil, Cool Capsule X and kiwi juice water.
Verdict: I got this bodywash as part of a Soap & Glory bath/shower set and is my current bodywash. I fell in love with it immediately as the scent was so fresh and uplifting. I also love the way it foams up when worked into a lather and leaves my skin feeling pampered and super soft.
In conclusion, thus far I've found that the body washes within the £5-£8 range tend to be better than cheaper brands, such as Dove. However that is just my experience and there may yet be some cheaper ones that are just as good, if not better, than their pricier competitors. I would love to try the Imperial Leather Sweet Treats range as they have some gorgeous scents, such as Foam Banana, Marshmallow, Fruit Salad, Refreshers and Love Hearts. When I do get round to trying them I shall post a Skin Deep Snippet on my Facebook page to give my feedback on them :) Let me know in the comments what body washes you've used and loved and your verdict on them. It would be interesting to see which brands are most popular and whether it's worth spending that little bit more in order to have a truly luxurious shower experience!
