Skincare Diary: La Roche Posay Effaclar Cleanser

Image
Hello beauties!!! I haven't done a skincare diary for awhile but I thought it would be a good idea to do one as this is a completely new product and I wanted to see how effective it was. So I recorded my experience every day for 7 days to see if it made a difference to my skin. First I'll give you some background on why I purchased this particular product. I was starting to get bored of my Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser which I've been using for about 6 months. I started to think it was my Holy Grail cleanser as it kept my skin feeling soft and moisturised and my acne started to clear up. However I didn't feel like it was giving me a deep enough cleanse in the evening, so I decided to try something different. It was a toss up between this one and the Cerave Foaming Cleanser. The Cerave had niacinamide and ceramides but I already had niacinamide in my routine and didn't think I needed to add any more to it. Instead I opted for the La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying F...

My Current Skincare Routine

All the products I currently use Hey guys!!! :) So as promised here is my current skincare routine post damaged skin barrier. Over the last month I've been reintroducing my actives one at a time. Just incase you haven't read my previous posts here's a quick summary: I damaged my skin barrier at the start of  December so I cut out all actives. I've successfully managed to reintroduce niacinamide, vitamin C and lactic acid. It took a lot of patience and time but I'm really happy with how far my skin has come. I'm not completely satisfied with the products as there's new things I want to try, but I feel like I've got an effective routine that works... for now! ;) AM Routi...

Hello my beauties!!! So for the past week I've been adding The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% back into my routine. I stopped using it at the end of December because when I tried adding the Purito Centella Unscented Serum, which has 3% niacinamide, into my PM routine I found that my skin became very red and irritated. It also got oilier which told me that I was using too much niacinamide and it was sensitising my skin. This really upset me because I've always loved it as an ingredient for helping to regulate sebum production and fade acne scars. However, I decided to listen to my skin and give it a break from niacinamide, including both TO Niacinamide and the Purito Centella Unscented Serum. After I stopped using it I noticed that the irritation went away but I became more oily as I wasn't getting the oil control benefits. However, I powered through and after 4 weeks I decided that it was time to reintroduce it to my routine... Day 1 (PM):  I applied the serum to slig...
